Renia Aquilim 315 Water-Based Contact Adhesive

Description

Aquilim 315 is the adhesive that defined Renia’s water-based range. It has been used in professional leather and footwear workshops across Europe for years — the benchmark product that the newer 330 was built to improve on for leather specifically. It is still worth knowing, and for some projects it is still the better choice.

The difference from 330 is straightforward. Aquilim 315 is a universal water-based contact adhesive with broader material compatibility and a slightly slower bond build-up on leather. That slower grip can be useful. If you are working with panels that need a moment to adjust before they commit, the slightly longer window that 315 gives you on leather is a practical advantage rather than a limitation.

Where 315 genuinely leads is mixed-material work. If you are regularly bonding leather to cork, foam, cardboard, or textile — or working across materials in the same build — 315 handles that range more reliably than 330 does. It was built as a universal adhesive. That breadth is still its strength.

Flesh to flesh shortcut. The same one-sided wet application that works on 330 works on 315: apply to one surface only and press the other piece directly into the wet adhesive — no waiting. Confirmed by Renia. Works for flesh-to-flesh bonding only. For grain side surfaces or mixed materials, use the standard two-sided application.

Same working principles as 330: apply thin and even, allow 30 to 60 minutes to dry until clear, press firmly together. Full bond strength at 48 hours. Water-based, no fumes, dries clear. Thin with water if needed.

Store above 4°C at all times. Freezing destroys the emulsion — a frozen Aquilim product cannot be recovered.
