Needles

Leather needles for hand sewing leather goods. The current range contains John James Saddler’s Harness Needles with blunt tips and large eyes in sizes 001, 002 and 004.
Use the individual product page to match the available needle size to the thread and project. These are hand-stitching needles; this category does not contain sewing-machine needles.
For saddle stitching, use one harness needle on each end of one continuous length of thread. Sizes 001 and 002 have a 54mm × 1.02mm body; size 004 is finer at 48mm × 0.86mm. Check the needle and thread together through prepared holes on an offcut — do not force a combination that distorts the leather.
