Description
Size: 118ml (4 oz)
Fiebing’s Gum Tragacanth is a leatherworking essential, used to burnish and smooth leather edges in preparation for finishing. It binds leather fibres and creates a slick, professional edge — ideal before applying edge paints or Fiebing’s Edge Kote.
How to Use:
Prepare the Leather: Ensure edges are clean, dyed/stained, and ready for finishing.
Apply: Use a dauber or edge paddle to apply a small amount to the edge.
Burnish: Rub with a slicker, bone folder, or burnishing tool until the edge is smooth and glossy.
Repeat if Needed: For extra smoothness, reapply and repeat.
Dry: Let it dry fully before applying any further finishes.
Optional: Apply Fiebing’s Edge Kote afterwards for coloured finishing.
Cleanup: Wipe tools before the product dries to prevent residue build-up.
TIP: Always test on a small area before full application, especially with delicate or exotic leathers.
