Description
The Kevin Lee 3.85mm French-style pricking iron set combines the 2-tooth and 8-tooth irons — the two most-used irons in everyday leathercraft. Each iron is machined from hardened, rust-resistant alloy steel, heat-treated to 58 HRC and mirror-polished for smooth, consistent stitch holes. Hideout Craft is an authorised Kevin Lee stockist in the UK.
The 2-tooth handles corners, tight curves and any section where a longer iron would overshoot. The 8-tooth is the workhorse — used for straight runs on wallets, straps, belts and most flat panel work. Together they cover the majority of leathercraft stitching situations without needing the 12-tooth unless you regularly work on longer seams.
Which set to choose:
The 2 and 8-tooth set covers the majority of everyday leathercraft situations and is the right starting point for most makers. Step up to the full 2, 8 and 12-tooth set if you regularly stitch long seams on belts, bag gussets or larger panels.
