Kevin Lee Leather Skiver – French Style
£48.00
Kevin Lee French-style leather skiver — alloy steel, 63 HRC, ebony handle. 8mm in stock. All other widths on order. UK stock.
Description
Kevin Lee French-style skivers are precision edge-thinning tools machined from alloy steel and hardened to 63 HRC — one of the highest hardness ratings available in a production leathercraft skiver. That hardness means the blade holds its edge significantly longer than most alternatives and can be re-honed repeatedly over years of bench use.
The ebony handle is shaped for comfortable grip during the controlled, repetitive motion that skiving demands. Whether thinning a belt return, feathering a glue edge or reducing a wallet panel before assembly, the tool gives consistent results across both vegetable-tanned and chrome-tanned leather.
Available in six blade widths to suit different tasks.
Blade width guide:
- 8mm: Currently in stock — versatile everyday skiving, a practical starting point for most makers
