Renia Aquilim SG Water-Based Positioning Adhesive

Description

Aquilim SG is not a bonding adhesive. It is a positioning adhesive — and that distinction matters. Its job is to hold leather pieces in exactly the right position so you can sew them accurately without anything shifting. The stitching does the structural work. The SG keeps everything still while you get there.

Apply to one surface only. Let it dry. Press the pieces together. If the alignment is not right — peel them apart and try again. It does not lose its tack. You can reposition as many times as you need without re-applying adhesive, without degrading the bond surface, and without the clock running against you. Once you are satisfied with the position, sew straight through. The adhesive film stays flexible, so the needle passes cleanly and stitch channels stay open.

This is the right tool for lining work, wallet card slots, pocket panels, and any complex multi-layer assembly where getting position exactly right matters more than speed. It is particularly valuable on any build where a permanent bond in the wrong position would be difficult or impossible to correct — because with SG, incorrect positioning is not a problem. You just try again.

It is also one-side application by design. You apply it to the more absorbent or rougher surface — for leather-to-lining work, apply to the leather flesh side — and the tack transfers when the surfaces meet. No double-coating, no timing the dry on both sides simultaneously.

The bond never fully cures to a permanent state, which is intentional. Once sewn, the seam holds everything in place structurally. The SG is there to make accurate sewing possible, not to replace it.

Store above 4°C at all times. Freezing destroys the emulsion and the product cannot be recovered.
