We do not currently allow public comments on the site. If this changes in future, we may collect the data you enter in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser info for spam detection purposes.

If you upload images to the website (e.g. via a contact or refund form), please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors may be able to extract that data from images.

Newsletter and Workshop Updates
If you sign up using the form in our website footer, we use your email address to send you Hideout Craft workshop news, guides and restock alerts. We only do this if you tick the consent box and then confirm your address by clicking the link we email to you. Until then you are not added to the list. We keep a record of your sign-up (your email address, the date and time, the wording you agreed to and your confirmation) so we can show that you agreed. The website form also stores the IP address it was submitted from. If you do not confirm, the link expires after 24 hours and we delete your request, including that IP address, after 30 days. Our lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in every newsletter email or by emailing sales@hideoutcraft.co.uk. After you unsubscribe we keep your address on a suppression record so we do not email you again, and we delete the rest of your sign-up record after 12 months. Sign-up and newsletter emails are sent from our website through Hostinger’s email service, and copies of emails we send are kept in our website’s email log for 60 days.
Email Choices at Checkout
At checkout, next to your email address, you will see two separate boxes. Both are optional, both start unticked, and neither is needed to place an order. Your order confirmation and other emails about your order are sent whatever you choose, because they are needed to complete your purchase.
Newsletter box. The wording is: “Yes, email me Hideout Craft workshop news, guides and restock alerts. I can unsubscribe at any time.” Ticking it does not add you to our list. We email you a confirmation link, and you are only subscribed if you click it. If you do not, the link expires after 24 hours and we delete the request after 30 days. We record your email address, the date and time, the wording and its version against your order and in our sign-up record, and we keep that record as described in the newsletter section above. You can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every newsletter email or by emailing sales@hideoutcraft.co.uk.
Basket reminder box. The wording is: “Email me one reminder if I leave items in my basket.” Only if you tick this box, we keep your email address and the contents of your basket, together with the date, time and wording of your choice. If you have not bought anything about an hour later, we send you one reminder email containing a link that restores your basket. The link works for 72 hours. We send at most one reminder to you every 7 days, we do not send one if you have bought since, and we delete the basket record after 30 days at the latest (sooner once you order). Every reminder has an opt-out link; using it stops further reminders, and unticking the box before you leave the page stops us recording your basket. Our lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using that link or by emailing sales@hideoutcraft.co.uk. Ticking this box does not subscribe you to the newsletter, and ticking the newsletter box does not switch on basket reminders.

Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor and form submissions may be checked through spam detection services and filtered through anti-abuse tools. Order data and email communications are handled via secure, GDPR-compliant services.
